Wellington’s best kept secret, through the eyes of a teacher

If you enjoy a scenic walk try the Te Ranga a Hiwi Track, accessible from Te Raekaihau Point http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Te_Raekaihau_Point (Houghton Bay area).

The track is moderate difficulty.

There are countless teaching and learning opportunities, for example;

  • Maths: Teaching slope and rates of change by experiencing the actual walk
  • Technology (Computer Studies): Image manipulation using Photoshop from pictures taken.
  • Religious Education: Teaching about stewardship responsibilities for natural environment
