Real Time Teaching

They don’t call teaching a ‘front line’ job without good reason. Most things, even planning on occasion, is done in real-time, with decisions expected in seconds and a huge variety of needs and wants from students expected to be dealt with ‘on the fly’. Contrast with management in the corporate world … “Lets talk about this over a coffee”. In schools you would be lucky to get enough time for a coffee. That of course is part of the price of making a positive impact of people’s lives…. and it is absolutely worth it.
