Digital Technologies is an optional subject. Hence to be sustainable in a school sufficient students must choose to take the subject. If they don’t numbers fall and DT teachers lose their jobs… Student choices are driven by many things including ease of credits, parental advice, future options etc. Ease of credits/workload are certainly a key factor for students. What does this mean? Market your subject to survive is what it means. It can also mean making the courses simpler, more appealing, more credits per hour of work, make your subject fun (teachers as entertainers)  etc. Something is wrong here somewhere…
