I had a brief look at what was involved when advertising with both Google AdWords and Facebook “likes” for small local businesses. The default setup via Google AdWords resulted in circa $2.00 per click. This could potentially be quite expensive for a small business, equally it could be quite rewarding. Who knows? You can set a budget however e.g. $50 and if work is slow it may be worth trying out to determine its effectiveness. It’s likely a better spend than Yellow Pages.
On Facebook you pay for “Likes” with a guaranteed range e.g 50-80 likes for say $14. I have no idea of the quality of the “Likes” but sounds promising. I wonder where the relative cost and benefits of advertising via social media is being taught?
