I am undertaking an inquiry into literacy requirements of Year 9 students in an environment where we routinely use Google Drive and Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD).
A review of my students reveals that 34% of Year 9 students taking Digital Technologies have significant literacy challenges i.e. less than 4B for Asttle tests.
Why are so many students hitting secondary schools with such low levels of literacy? (And we are likely to be better than many schools in New Zealand.)
