Rules that lack legitimacy will be ignored

Texting while driving is certainly dangerous. Talking, I’m not so sure about, if so then drinking a can of coke while driving should also be outlawed or talking to you passenger. If laws lack legitimacy they will be ignored… it appears the cell phone law lacks legitimacy. Likewise in schools, if the students don’t recognize the legitimacy of the rules they will ignore them e.g. don’t wear jackets in class – even if it’s cold, don’t wear puffer jackets, don’t sit in car parking areas – even when teachers do! Don’t use Facebook – even when the teachers do…. you get the point.
