Death on site – implications

A construction worker collapsed and sadly died of a heart attack on Thursday morning, on or about the school driveway and parking areas.

This led to the closure of the driveway while emergency services and later on family attended. The building site was closed for the day as a sign of respect. School learning conferences planned for the day were also postponed. Parts of the school were also made inaccessible for the day.

The local kaitiaki and family, friends, colleagues and school staff attended a blessing at the site 7:30am Friday morning… School counseling services were made available to staff and students impacted.

You cannot plan for everything, you just need to be agile on the day to accommodate what is required.
