Bureaucrat arrogance in online census failure

The failure to get gather quality data with an online census is no surprise. Sadly neither is the Wellington-based political and bureaucratic arrogance that led to an assumption most people would or indeed could complete the census online. Given recent experiences with Facebook, email scams, Vodafone, Spark, and many many companies that expect you to use their online services it is no surprise that so many people did not complete the census online. Many online services lack required trust levels, patience, usibility etc… why would people think the census online would be any different.

Did anyone lose their jobs (other than National party Ministers via the election)? If not why not?
