I see the future of the N4L service Pond is being evaluated. My guess is that like any solution in need of a problem its demise is inevitable. Building an intranet for sharing resources is a great idea, however, when communities of practice have alternatives already in place why would they bother using Pond? Other considerations such as trust relationships and even fear of breaching copyright are also potential detriments to adoption. Also, why develop and give away for free when you could sell the resources? No real surprise other than pond lasted this long, I had my doubts back in 2014.
