Looking for CSV datasets useful for students to practice SQL

Following an initial trawl of government datasets and public registers (including open data govt website), I am asking if anyone got any recommendations regarding relevant (CSV) data sets I could provide students with for structuring a database and using SQL to interrogate? A lot of the public registers limit access… I can get students to do surveys but frankly, there are so many surveys run by other students… I have had some great suggestions (you know who you are)… and have a few ideas of my own;

  • KAMAR as a source for WEGC anonymized teacher and student info
  • Min Ed School register
  • Stolen cars from Police
  • Crash statistics from NZTA
  • School census data from Statistics (built largely to teach Statistics…)
  • Waka AMA spring nationals finish results

Anyone have any other ideas? Must be simple and engaging enough for Years 11-13 to use. maybe even international datasets?
